Dropped:
- Night church. I just simply didn't like it more than the concept, so I will probably pick it up later and remake it. But as it is now, I highly doubt I will continue Night Church. I got a nice amount of stuff done for it, but I didn't like it and felt like it just didn't work as a game.
Night Church was a 2016 project I think that was supposed to be a visual novel starring Noë and Philip. The premise was basically those two getting lost on their way to a Christmas church and end up in a supernatural church and their task was to escape without being found out to be living humans.
Hiatus:
- Harmonia. I realized Harmonia is simply too much work for me right now and it's totally beyond my level as a visual novel. I need to see what I'll do with it, but either I'll turn it into a sound novel or try to see if I could make it into a novel - or if I'll just write it in a script format and maybe make it sound like a play script and then post it like that. Harmonia definitely works the best as a script due to the narration...
Harmonia is about a failed homunculus whose home laboratory catches on fire, and her task is to escape to the main laboratory at the other side of the city. But as this is her first time going outside, dangers lurk everywhere. On her way she meets friends and foes and starts constructing her own identity. - The Book of Living. My interest with this story is constantly waxing and waning, and it honestly makes me embarrassed. I'm too stubborn to stop it, but I'll just... let it rest for a while again before I return back to it. I just simply don't like what I have written for it so far and I don't feel good writing it.
TBOL is a story of Oskar, a boy who died in a tragic accident but who was then brought back to life through necromancy. Being stuck in a dead body with a gaping hole in his stomach, Oskar sets out on a quest to find a way to separate his body and soul so that his soul will finally get the rest it needs. However, it's not an easy task.
- Cherub. I really want to pick this one up this summer because multiple people have asked me for more chapters and it's something super NEW to me so I want to keep on delivering. I think my main problem is I need to write one character entirely out of the story, I never planned it to be a longer one and Finnish as a language is restricting me. But yeah like I said I really want to continue it, I should probably just start reading more Finnish literature first to get back into the drive of writing in that language. The characters and story in itself are super dear to be though, so this one won't be dropped no matter what. But yeah I might have to put it on hiatus anyway to save my own mental health.
Cherub tells a story of a young university student who returns back to his home village from his summer vacation, and finds a winged young boy from the church. He fast becomes the child's new caretaker, but both demons and scientists are very interested in getting their hands on the odd boy. - Kašnian. Especially for the past few weeks or so I have been itching to work on this story again, but I probably need to redo some things first. But I really want to tell the story of my gays so I have to stay strong even if it means I need to put it on a hiatus for a while ;_;
Kasnian tells a story of two very different men who become connected through different turns of events. One of them yearns to travel but is bound to his home, another wants to settle down but is forced to a life of travel. - Unicorn in the Garden
Clarence and Dorian are unicorn brothers living in the forest near a large noble mansion. Living where no human can set their foot in, the life of the brothers is calm but ultimately not all that exciting. But when the younger brother Dorian once wanders off too far from their nest and ends up befriending a human girl, their tranquil lifestyle comes to an end - but for a better or worse? (Novella / sound novel)
Nanowrimo:
(Aiming for 100k double nano)
- Lily 9. I got the idea for the concept back in like May 2016 I think and I have been working gently on it on-and-off since then. It's a very ambitious project and my first try ever in scifi taking place in space, but I'm very excited about it and can't wait to actually get around writing it!
Lily 9 is a space ship consisting of humans and demons of Earth and Koryars, an alien species they have contacted in the past. Lily 9's crew consists of 9 members with different pasts, and together they are travelling through the galaxy to investigate any possible oddities happening. They are also a social experiment to see if the very different species can work together. When the crew learns one of its members is there to look for her son, they all vow to find and find out what happened to him and his ship years ago. - Unnamed Taros story. Another one from last May I think, it takes a place in Taros for once and the protagonists are mostly kids of known Taros characters. It's actually my passion project where I get to talk about camping and traveling in nature in close detail, heh.
Just like every aspiring mage who wants to graduate, Lilja also has to take her final exam in which she teams up with other students for a simple mission across Agane. There their skills in magic and other knowledge would be tested by the country of Agane itself, and as a proof they would bring back something from their destination. However, when Lilja receives an order to seek people not even attending her school to aid her on her mission, she knows something isn’t quite right.
Just who are these people she has to find to join her, and how is she going to do that?
As Lilja, together with her schoolmates Francis and Malcom, set out on their shared graduation quest, they all slowly start to understand just how much is going on in their country that is hidden from the eyes of people. Soon they are not sure which is more terrifying: the rumours of an upcoming war, or the whispers about strange creatures threatening border villages at night…
- Revenge Story.
During a stormy night in a small coast town a boy disappears into the sea without a trace. The townspeople are sure he drowned himself but Kenneth knows better: he and his friends accidentally drowned him while bullying him as always - or so he thinks. But when a creature that in many ways resembles the boy who died starts appearing at night to the coast, Kenneth is not so sure about his death anymore…
That's... quite a lot. But just like it's with drawing, with writing you also gotta do a lot of drafts and small things and sometimes it's okay to just drop them. They don't need to be good either. As long as you don't just stop, I guess. I'm also not counting my small low-key projects consisting of oneshots like my vampire collection, and I have some projects I want to keep a secret for the time being!
Either way, I hope I can start uploading something this summer while I work on Sinfonia.
