Noë Winterford
A healer from Kinos, Taros, Noë is an extremely unpredictable, whimsical and fickle person with an interest in many questionable things. Due to this, despite being fully human, Noë is often called and even treated as a monster. This doesn’t seem to bother the healer much though and instead Noë seems to embrace this title fully. After all, monsters don’t need to act like humans must. Noë's gender is a mystery to everyone and the healer prefers juggling between she and he to confuse people. Noë is a relative to Nanuk and Yvonne and has connections to other characters such Tiera and even Karen. Noë, although a different character from the Taros equivalent, has been featured in the fairy tale world and world X as a supporting character. Noë is also one of the secondary central characters of Taros.
[Notice: Feminine pronouns have been used in this character application. However, Noë uses both masculine and feminine pronouns very freely and doesn’t stick with only one. I personally tend to switch between he and she and so does Noë, but people are free to decide what pronouns they want to use or if they just want to mix around. Personally, Noë likes to mix he and she to confuse people.] AppearanceNoë has a narrow body type with shoulders and waist somewhat the same size, shoulders only slightly broader. She is light built but not scrawny, and has a very androgynous build. She has light brown skin and red eyes eyes that are often slightly narrowed. Noë has dark brown, somewhat rough hair with neck part cut short and long sides tied up with white fabric and black, thin thread. Her overall facial features appear rather delicate, but not particularly feminine.
Noë is often seen with her trademark black-and-white dress with tights and white boots. She usually likes to wear black/white/different shades of blue, black and white.. Noë has a preference for dresses and skirts but does wear trousers and the like too. Her clothes usually have crosses somewhere and are often linked to magpies/crows/ravens or alternatively goats/sheep. She is never seen without her bandages on hands and she is also noted to have them wrapped around her legs too, although she rarely shows much skin. A noticeable feature worth noting in Noë is her light coloured nails, [*a result of the herbs Noë regularly eats*] |

Personality
Noë is easy to sum up as a person who looks friendly and harmless, but is actually the exact opposite.
Due to her looks, Noë often appears as an easily approachable person. Added by the fact she is also a healer, who are generally very calm and respectable in manners, it’s understandable one would not expect what is coming. However, the reality shatters as soon as she opens her mouth just to say something extremely alarming, making you question was bothering her a good idea after all. It’s not that she is doing it on purpose to freak people out (most of the time, at least), it’s just that her way of thinking has sidetracked from the general thinking of what is considered morally and socially acceptable.
Noë doesn’t bother with things like “right” and “wrong” and instead just prefers acting as she pleases, often going against what is commonly perceived as “good”. Unreasonable she usually isn’t and usually doesn’t purposefully want to hurt others, but if you give her a reason not to give you mercy, she definitely won’t give any.
The healer is not very considerate around new people and doesn’t seem to have much respect for personal space. She is very shameless and often drags innocent people into trouble with her, either on of a whim or in order to get off the hook herself. Noë is also very unpredictable and it’s hard to tell what she is about to do next.
Although she might not appear so, Noë still has a desire to help people around her, even though she would prefer helping only those who she cares about. Noë is surprisingly dutiful as a healer and will gladly help you out, unless you’re being a jerk. In that case she will coldly leave you alone, often claiming she will just do more bad if she lets a person without manners to get healed.
Noë is actually very genuine with her feelings most of the time, and despite her eccentricity and the fact you can’t really trust her right off the bat, it’s possible to get along with her. In fact, Noë herself gets along with just about anyone. It’s more of a question of who can stand Noë enough to establish a bond of any sort with her. She is secretive and doesn’t talk too much about herself, often dodging questions, but will tell more to people she likes. Noë also has a habit of declaring herself one’s friend on an impulse and sometimes she gets oddly attached to people she has just met.
Due to her twisted nature, there are all sort of rumours going on about her. The most popular one are about Noë not being a human at all and either a demon, half demon or a monster in human form. Knowing her liking for morally questionable things, she is often called a monster by her peers. Her mysterious nature, past nobody seems to know little to nothing of and apparent ties to underground business don’t make it any easier for her to be seen as a normal person. At this point Noë doesn’t mind though and has fully embraced the fact she is seen as a monster.

- Keeps bandages on hands and legs in order to “avoid dirtying vital body parts” but she also just wants to look cool. And maybe hide something. [* In reality Noë is hiding carvings on his hands and legs, all of which were made in the cult she was a part of.*]
- Has a small bluebird pet called Chirp. The bird follows Noë around, even if it wasn’t always sitting on her shoulder. The bird was born in wild but started approaching Noë for the food, and eventually became a familiar of sort. Its behaviour is very odd for a bluebird and it doesn’t seem to have interest in mating, making Noë think the bird might be some sort of chimera.
- While not particularly sensitive to the spirit world, the healer more than gladly messes around with the spirit world if just given chance. There are even rumours going around of her being involved in forbidden practices during her school years, but nobody had the proof to show.
- Often nicknames people. The healer thinks it’s bothersome to learn names so she re-names people, often sticking with the nicknames for very long, sometimes forever. It’s rare she actually continues addressing someone with their actual name and implies some respect.
- Despite her affinity to church, she is not actually very religious. In fact, Noë is very interested in many different gods and even seems to favour Temus over Miras.
- King of Ghost Stories
- Is probably into some freaky shit
- Has a lively, somewhat boyish manner of speaking. His vocal range is surprisingly wide but his normal tone of speaking is very androgynous and can’t really be called a clear male or female voice.
- [*Eats different herbs and potions regularly in order to keep her hormone balance how she wants it to be.*]
Abilities (Magic, healing, fighting)
As a water mage, Noë specializes in blood and poisons. She can, although within very strict limits, manipulate blood and make the blood flow faster/slower depending on what is needed. She can also use her magic to get water-based poisons out of body by controlling the water and pulling the liquid away. This all is, however, limited to healing only unless the healer is being disturbed during duty.
Combat wise, Noë is not particularly strong. She can’t create water out of thin air and instead controls it from already existing sources. To balance out her lack of creation, she can easily turn water into ice.
Her attacks are based on whips of water and binding with ice. Noë often uses icicles as well, using them mostly for stabbing or throwing. Noë knows church combat, a form of self defense, but is only average at it. This is why Noë would not do well in one-to-one battle unless the opponent was hurt, inexperienced or otherwise in clear disadvantage from the beginning.. However, as she can control blood, it usually keeps people from attacking her while on duty.
[When one’s body is directly controlled by magic from inside, the feeling is extremely uncomfortable. Although healers can make little to no damage to the person with their blood controlling, the feeling of someone using their magic in such way grosses people out. “Violated” is how people who have been magically controlled describe it feeling like]
Carrying a knife with her, Noë can, as a last resort, protect herself with the weapon. She is very fast with her hands and thanks to her healer knowledge, she knows where to cut.
Physical combat: 4/10 (6/10 if the opponent is at clear disadvantage)
Magic in combat: 5/10 (6/10 if breaking the rules and using blood magic)
Noë is not much of a fighter but she is not entirely useless: her talents lie in her extreme agility skills. Due the fact she has had to sneak into places and run away from chasers a lot, Noë has developed really good physical skills suitable for escaping and climbing on high buildings.
Imagine some Assassins Creed -level stuff and you get a pretty good idea.
Parkour: 9/10

Past
".....You .....stole it, am I right?"
"It didn't belong to them from the begin with. Can that be called stealing anymore when they have stolen it once already?"
- Aris and Noë
Noë is an orphan with no connection to her roots. She was born in Kinos, but her mother is from Ecurus originally. Her parents died when she was really young and her remaining relatives lived in poverty, thus not suited to take care of the child. Unable to face this challenge, they left Noë for the church and she was taken in.
She lived in an orphanage for a few years but was soon adopted to a countryside family with a farm. Noë led a very idyllic way of living and when turning 7, she attended the local village school. When she was 8, however, the farm got caught on fire and the losses were so dramatic the family couldn’t afford taking care of Noë anymore, and she was sent to yet another family. Rumours said that it was Noë who started the fire but there is no evidence clearly pointing at her.
The child’s new family was a lower class noble family and quite wealthy even if they weren’t on the top. They had gained their rank with hard work and Noë learned the importance of work from them.
She has then spent many years in church’s magic school, specializing in healing.
It’s said that she was involved with dangerous black magic circles during her school years and was behind many of the incidents that happened in the church area. [*This is true and Noë indeed was affiliated with the worshipers of Vertus, sort of a Satan equivalent of Taros. She joined it simply because she needed to get on the good side of the leaders who were also those who had access to different records. Noë desperately wanted to destroy all official mentions of her biological gender, and was so obsessed with it that she joined the cult. She was often abused mentally and physically, but she endured it all just for the sake of achieving her goal. Once she did that, she left to Nietas for a while. *]
