Lance Castellot
Lance is a character featured in the fairy tale world. He used to work as a pegasus knight before an incident that killed his ride and left him unable to deal with most shy creatures. He is kind, generally soft spoken and looks out for others, but his evil dragon attribute makes others distrustful of him. Lance is now a white mage and he travels around the country in search for adventure and a cure for his dragon attribute. Lance is affiliated strongly with another friend's character, Hild.
AppearanceLance is a considerably tall man with lean but strong built. He has strong, wide shoulders and muscular upper body. His waist is small but he has visible abs and his legs are long and his tights and calves are visibly buff but don't look out of place on his body. He has light brown, long and soft hair he is most often seen keeping on a braid reaching his calves. His skin is light and eyes blue with feminine looking, long eyelashes and slightly droopy eyes, giving him a very kind look. His nose is of average size and sharp. His face is oval shaped with strong jaw, but his overall features sometimes make people mistake him for a handsome woman. Lance's most noticeable feature is a long, dark green dragon tail with spiky tail tip.
He is usually seen wearing a white mage robe consisting of white fabric with blue decorations. There is a dragon tribal print featured on his chest upper body. As a pegasus knight he was featured with a gray schemed armour. |

Personality
Lance is very kind, that is his very core of being. He genuinely wants nothing but good to people by default and he always has time for others when they need him. The man knows his own physical and mental limits but is not always above ignoring them and exhausting himself while trying to make others feel good. Generally though, Lance is not the person to set himself on fire to keep others warm. He wants to help and does so but only if he knows it is within his abilities.
Due to spending majority of life around extremely shy pegasi, Lance has developed a very soft and gentle approach to all creatures. He is soft spoken and usually doesn’t express his opinions unless asked or if the situation really calls for it, and while he is not conflict avoiding in particular, he dislikes them greatly and does his best to prevent them. When needed to, however, Lance can express himself very firmly and strongly and because of this he always seems to have a powerful presence even if he is being his usual, soft self. His [evil] dragon attribute tends to make others distrustful of him at first, but his genuine and gentle way of acting usually is enough to melt the hearts of most people. Even so, Lance has also gotten used to being mistreated by others.
He is an introvert by nature and enjoys solitude but he is still also highly social. He is rarely the center of the party nor does he want to be but his skills with people are often what is more expected of more extroverted people than him. As younger he would spend more time with animals than humans but later his social skills slowly but steadily increased. Lance has a very special talent of getting involved with people who are in need of emotional guidance and the man more than gladly helps those people, if just possible. He doesn’t take it as his life mission to make everyone feel good as he understands it’s impossible, but the man still tries his very best.
His more fierce nature surfaces if he is being provoked or someone he cares about is in danger. Lance is a man of action and while he does think before he acts, he does that extremely fast and without any kind of unnecessary pondering. He can sometimes even be a little snappy at people who procrastinate in decision making if Lance happens to have a bad day or if he is tired. To his enemies Lance can be surprisingly merciless and he has killed way more people than someone with his looks and overall nature would be expected of - even as a warrior. While Lance can be concluded as all-around good person, he is also not without his faults: when he snaps he really does so and doesn’t show mercy to people. He can sometimes be impatient and expect too much of people and he doesn’t talk to others about his own problems, often dwelling in his own self pity and feeling bad about it yet doing nothing about it. Lance is also secretive and often doesn’t talk about his past unless clearly confronted about it or if he trusts the person enough.

- Lance can be very feminine, but definitely a guy nevertheless

Past
Castellot family was and still is known for their hereditary A-ranked skill in pegasi riding. Usually the trait passes down to female members of the family but sometimes males with this ability are born as well and Lance was one of those - previous one was born three generations before him.
Due to this, Lance grew around pegasi and other animals too as the hereditary trait makes it easier for people with that skill to get along with animals - especially shy ones. As a result of this trait, or maybe because of it, Lance grew up as a rather well behaved and somewhat soft man. He was never the one to get into fights until absolutely provoked and while he did not fear of confrontations, he was (and still is) not particularly fond of them. He was very peace loving even as a child.
He led a successful career as a pegasi rider and a knight, handling very well both lance an sword and even magic as well. He was part of the king’s army and well liked by his peers, even if he was not the most extroverted person out there and often preferred the company of animals more than humans. Lance’s life was exciting and sometimes even dangerous, but he was from a good family and he was treated well with love and respect by others.
However, things took a sudden turn when Lance was on a regular mission near the country’s border. There had been some problems there recently and he was sent there alone to check it out, under the assumption there was nothing too serious going on. Much to his dismay, he was caught by a small group of enemy mages that had been long ago banished from the country from illegal magic practice. Despite Lance’s efforts of throwing around summoning spells to get backup, they did not arrive in time. He got into a fight with the mages and while he was a rather talented warrior-mage himself, Lance didn’t still stand a chance. He was struck with a curse that gave him a [evil] dragon attribute which made his trusted pegasus companion lose Lance’s trust. In its fear, the pegasus managed to hurt its wings and fall down a cliff, losing its life right in front of Lance’s eyes.
The backup arrived and Lance was saved, but nobody could take off his dragon attribute anymore. Although majority of his physical changes could be removed, he was left with a dragon tail. Even if it could have been removed, Lance would have kept it anyway: he never really forgave himself for getting into trouble and being the reason his loved pegasus died.
Pegasi no longer trusted Lance due to his attribute and he refused to become a wyvern or gryphon rider: ever since the incident, Lance developed a fear of flying due to negative associations in the trauma he suffered. Knowing he disappointed people and they felt pity for him, Lance decided to take off from his home town and start travelling in hopes of at least removing his negative attribution and maybe trying out flying one day again.
Although a goal of sort in his mind, it is not high priority to him: Lance just wants to see the world around him, this time from the ground level though. He wants to find some sort of new purpose to himself and what is a better way than taking the road of an adventurer. He doesn’t particularly need treasures or praises and Lance usually leaves those things to others. He is more invested in the kind of treasures that can only be kept in memory and be learned from.
